REVIEWS for The Cimmerion Prince
4.5 Hearts:
"This is a dark story of forbidden love and sworn
enemies. I loved traveling along with the darkly handsome Prince Virk and his
strong captive Sedina as they fight not only for love, but to end a bloody war
that has gone on too long and that has destroyed too many lives. I would not
recommend this to someone looking for a sweet story of hearts and roses as at
times it can be rather graphic and violent, but I would highly recommend it to
anyone looking for an action packed, darkly sensual story that will not only
keep the reader turning the pages, but will leave them longing to read more."

EXCERPT
Virk let the energy build inside of him.
The inferno in him threatened to consume. He trained his gaze
to the very top of the tree, instantly setting it ablaze.
Whoever was hiding in the tree couldn’t take to the sky until
they scrambled lower away from the fire. A small scream
pierced the air. A body tumbled out of the tree, a small fire
burning on it. Virk rushed forth, meeting it as it hit ground.
Immediately, he grabbed the body and rolled it, snuffing the
flames. Roughly, he turned the person’s face toward him.
He was taken aback by the beauty of the
Veletari. Her hair had been obviously dyed black as well as her
wings. Dirt had been rubbed into her white luminescent skin.
Virk couldn’t help but stare. She was paler than a normal
Veletari. Her wings were singed. Virk growled at her, hating the
confusion she spread in him. She was the most beautiful creature
he had ever seen—and his greatest enemy.
“You will kill me after I have aided you?”
There was no fear in her voice, just defiance.
“You call tumbling out of a tree aiding
me?” Virk pulled her to her feet. He had no idea why he was even
speaking to her. He should have killed her on sight.
“I gave you the machine.” Arrogance laced
her words as she jerked out of his grasp.
“Yes, I am still trying to figure out why.”
Virk studied her closely.
“I have no wish for this war anymore than
you.” She stared at him boldly. “Let me go. I have caused you no
harm.”
“Then why are you watching us? You plan to
relay our new location to your brethren?”
“I was merely making sure other Veletari
did not watch you.”
“What have you to gain from this?”
“Nothing.”
“You expect me to believe a Veletari would
aid out of the kindness of their nonexistent, bloodthirsty
hearts?” Virk laughed derisively.
To his surprise, she advanced upon him. Up
close, he could see the pale light green of her eyes. They were
mesmerizing. “Not all of us eat humans. Not all of us agree with
the course my people have taken after your act of kindness. Can
you say all your people agree with everything your king does?”
She cocked her head to the side as if waiting for his answer or
waiting for him to back down. She of course had no idea who she
was dealing with. Virk took that remaining step forward until
his face was so close to hers, he could have kissed her.
“My king is a good one.”
“That does not negate the fact that you
could still have rebels in your mist.”
Virk hated to admit to himself that she was
right. Luxian was a good king. But recent events made him aware
that even with a good king, there would be no pleasing everyone.
“You, I take it, are a Veletari rebel?”
“Have I not proven myself by delivering the
very machine that could be used to wipe my people out? You think
I don’t know the legend of the Vessel and what it means if she
is impregnated by a Cimmerion?”
“How do I know it was you?”
This seemed to stump her for a moment. What
she did next surprised Virk. It surprised him because as a
seasoned warrior, he was prepared for anything. Prepared for
everything that is but a kiss. Her soft lips took his so
swiftly, he couldn’t react. He felt a sharp prick in his
shoulder. She broke the kiss and stepped out of reach. “It’s not
the same poison as before. I changed some of the components.”
Then she turned and ran, her long legs moving fast as she dodged
trees and eventually disappeared.
Virk’s vision was momentarily compromised
as it became cloudy. In seconds, his night vision returned, and
the Veletari was nowhere to be seen. Virk knew he wouldn’t find
her this night. She had no idea what she had just done. For Virk
would hunt her down if it were the last thing he’d ever do.
