ABOUT TONI
I have been a
resident of Michigan for the last fifteen years. In between
my job as a Personal Trainer and my writing, I love to do
theatre. I serve on the board of my theatre group as well as
perform. I must admit since my singing leaves much to be
desired, most of my roles are relegated to dancing.
I also fancy myself an extremely amateur photographer
as well as a clothes, shoes, and accessory addict. I love
writing and have been writing since I was eleven, but only
in recent years did I seek to get published.
INTERVIEW
Q: Out of all the characters in your books, which one
comes closest to your personality?
A: I would have to say Lyra. Lyra is fiercely independent but at
the same time knows when to concede she needs help. She is also
a little heavy on the sarcasm, which is a major aspect to my
personality but at the same time she is a very giving person.
Q: What is your favorite thing to do?
A: I’m going to avoid saying writing because that’s obvious. But
one of my favorite things to do is get my friends together and
go dancing. It not only burns calories but it does relieve
stress.
Q: What is the hardest thing about writing?
A: Realizing that my brain works faster than my fingers. So many
words and ideas just seem to tumble out of my brain I can’t seem
to get them down fast enough when I’m on a roll. Then there are
those times when I am nowhere near my computer and I get a great
idea for a continuing chapter and I know it will be hours before
I can write it down. That is torture.
Q: You seem to love Alpha males. Is that really the type
of male you are attracted to?
A: Oh, to answer this will probably set women back about 100
years! Just kidding, the truth is I have a very strong
personality so I definitely have to have an Alpha male as a
counterpart. It’s the only way to balance out the relationship.
Q: What is your writing day like?
A: Generally I wait until I wind down for the day. After taking
care of all errands and conflicts for the day, I then settle
down to write. This is how the creativity flows for me. I first
reread the last chapter and decide if I want to go with that
train of thought or throw in some new flavor. After every page,
I reread to make sure I am getting everything down the way I
want it. I usually try to do no more than two chapters for each
writing session because I want to keep the dialogue and ideas
fresh. |
