INTERVIEW
Q: What made you decide
on erotic romance as you writing genre?
A: When I turned the big 40, I bought myself a Kindle for my
birthday because I love to read. I stumbled onto this story by
Jenny Penn and downloaded it because, you aren't going to
believe this, I loved the cover. OH MY GOD, my eyes about popped
out of my head. Two hunky guys kissing one woman. I was
mesmerized and, okay, aroused as all hell. I read that book in
an hour then I re-read again right after. There was something
there that I fell in love with. I sat down at my computer that
night and started to write my story. It took me 5 days to finish
and I think my family thought I was going nuts. I used the same
publishing company she did and before I could talk myself out of
it I sent the manuscript. When I received word that it was
accepted I started to cry. I did it.
Q: Why Were-Bears?
A: Being in the veterinary field I have a huge love of all
animals. Bears especially appeal to me because they are similar
to humans in many ways. They are survivors, atop of the food
chain, dedicated to their children, and if you piss them off,
watch out!
Q: Where do you get your ideas?
A: Life. I watch a movie and think to myself that this character
would be a great in a book. I overhear a conversation, and boom,
a whole scene flashes through me. I dream, I fantasize and I
believe. Life is full of interesting ideas.
Q: What inspirational advice would you give to future
writers?
A: Don’t be afraid. Sit down, finish what you began and see it
through. Even if you are rejected a couple of times, keep
writing. This is who you are.
Q: Are you only going to write about shape-shifter?
A: No. The possibilities are limitless. I am currently writing
about twin cowboys (HOT) and a girl centered around cutting
horses.
Q: When will we be seeing this cowboy romance?
A: Well, it still is in the writing stage and I have to submit
it to the publishing company for approval. I am hoping around
the fall 2010.
Q: What are you reading right now?
A: I am reading three books concurrently. The new Dan Brown--The
lost Symbol, the new Laurell K. Hamilton--Skin Trade, and Leah
Brooke’s Dakota Ranch Crude. I switch books based on my mood.
Q: How hard was it to write a love scene with five men?
A: Oh my. If I say easy, will you kill me? Once I started, it
all flowed so effortlessly. A couple of the scenes I had to step
back and take a couple of deep breaths before returning to write
because of the scorching heat.
Q: Where do you write?
A: Believe it or not, I write a lot at Starbucks. A cup of a hot
latte, one of their deep cushion chairs and the many characters
that walk by me. I plug in my earphones and just write.
Sometimes it amazes me that when I am in the middle of a
particular passionate scene and look up people are unaware of
what is being written from my blushes. I love it. So sexy and
sinful in public.
Q: Would you actually live in a ménage relationship?
A: Oh yes. Having two, three, four, five men dedicated to my
happiness and sexual wellbeing. Sign me up. Oh la la.
