ABOUT SANDY
Sandy
Sullivan is a romance author, who, when
not writing, spends her time with her
husband Shaun on their farm in middle
Tennessee. She loves to ride her horses,
play with their dogs and relax on the
porch, enjoying the rolling hills of her
home south of Nashville. County music is
a passion of hers and she loves to
listen to it while she writes.
She is an avid reader of romance novels
as well as an author, and she enjoys
reading Nora Roberts, Jude Deveraux and
Susan Wiggs. Finding new authors and
delving into something different helps
feed the need for literature. A
registered nurse by education, she loves
to help people and spread the enjoyment
of romance to those around her with her
novels. She loves cowboys, so you’ll
find many of her novels have sexy men in
tight jeans and cowboy boots.
INTERVIEW
Q: What is your favorite
genre to write?
A: I write mostly western historical and
western contemporary, but I’m delving
into erotica too.
Q: Where do you get your ideas for
your stories?
A: I can get an idea from a dream, a
song, seeing someone in the grocery
store – it doesn’t matter. I’m open to
suggestions.
Q: What is your favorite time to write?
A: Any time that is quiet in my house.
Usually when my husband isn’t home. LOL
Q: Do you have a picture in your
mind when you start a story about what
the hero/heroine looks like?
A: Most definitely. I love men with nice
chests, some chest hair, six pack abs
and dimples! I love dimples!
Q: Would you do a book tour and do
you suggest that for getting the word
out about your books?
A: I would love to do a book tour. I
think it’s a great idea and I think
maybe getting several authors from the
same publishing house to do one together
would be really cool.
Q: How do you keep a person’s
interest in your novel after the first
couple of pages?
A: The easiest way for me to keep a
person’s interest is to start with
action. If the story jumps right into
the middle of action, they are less
likely to put it down.
Q: Out of the novels you’ve
written, who is your favorite hero?
A: It has to be Tanner in Cowboy Love.
He’s so tough, but so soft when it comes
to Amy. I just love a guy that can be
tough as nails when he needs to be, but
loving, caring and compassionate with
the woman he loves.
Q: What do you do to get in the
mood when you are writing a love scene?
A: Um…let’s see. I usually need it quiet
in the house. I’ll sit back, close my
eyes and run through the scene in my
head before I actually write it. It’s
much easier to write the scene if I can
picture what’s going to happen.
Q: Do your love scenes get you as
worked up as they do the readers?
A: You bet! If they don’t get me worked
up, how can I expect them to get the
reader involved?
Q: What are you currently working
on?
A: I’m working on a series actually. The
first piece is completed and I have the
second piece worked out in my brain,
it’s just getting it on paper. The first
installment is about a woman who loses
her husband in the 9/11 attacks in NYC.
He was a firefighter. Their dream was to
raise their kids on some property where
she could raise horses, so she takes his
life insurance and moves to Wyoming. She
meets her oh so sexy neighbor and sparks
fly, but there is also some paranormal
in there. I should be sending it out to
be looked at in the coming weeks.
