ABOUT LEAH
Leah Brooke has
always loved to read and has always been addicted to happily
ever after. After reading one of her mother’s romance
novels, she was hooked. Being somewhat of a daydreamer,
plots for stories and reading stories made her wonder, "What
if?"
Finally she started to put them on paper. It took years
of working on stories for her own amusement before a
manuscript was born and she decided to send it in.
She’s been married to her high school sweetheart for
more than twenty years and has two sons whom she describes
as being the light of her life, and who contribute greatly
in helping her keep her sense of humor.
INTERVIEW
Q: What’s the hardest thing about writing?
A: The computer! To say I’m not exactly computer savvy would be
a gross understatement. I write every word of my book on
notebook paper in a three ring binder. I type a chapter at a
time into the computer and print it all out to edit. Even when I
download e-books, I print them out and put them in binders to
read!
Q: What do you hope readers get from your stories?
A: Escape. Relaxation. Amusement. Enjoyment. I want my books to
take readers away from the problems and stress of their lives if
only for a short time. Having limited free time and a stress
filled schedule, I can’t imagine not reading.
I’ve picked up a book after a particularly grueling day
and was in a great mood an hour later. There are so many
wonderful authors out there who’ve given me stories that make
the stress melt away. I would love to be able to do that for
others.
Q: How often do you write?
A: Now that a manuscript was accepted, I write every single day.
Q: How does it feel to be a new author?
A: Surreal. I’m so excited. When I was contacted and told they
wanted to publish my first manuscript, I couldn’t stop crying.
Then I began watching for e-mails telling me that it was all a
joke.
Q: Do you only work on one book at a time?
A: I force myself to only work on one at a time. Sometimes it’s
hard because I have so many of them in my head and some days
characters are screaming to be heard. When they get too loud, I
put aside what I’m working on and write up a lot of notes on the
screamers. Once I do that they usually quiet down and let me get
back to what I’m working on now.

REVIEWS for Desire for Three
[Desire, Oklahoma 1]
BEST
BOOK: "Filled with passion, suspense, and fabulous characters,
Desire for Three is a wonderful book that I enjoyed immensely. I was
immediately intrigued by the concept of a town where ménages and dom/sub
relationships are the norm and where men protect all women no matter what. The
author did a fabulous job of depicting life in this town and made me want to
know more about all of the characters. In fact, the town is just as much a
character in the book as the heroes and heroine are. Speaking of the heroes and
heroine, I absolutely loved Clay, Rio, and Jesse. The ups-and-downs of their
relationship helped keep me interested in the story and I couldn’t wait to see
what would happen. Jess is a strong heroine that I really admired. Having been
in a bad marriage, she is used to doing things on her own and has many trust
issues with the male species. Clay and Rio are determined to gain her trust
despite her resistance. They have their work cut out for them as a series of
misunderstandings as well as Jesse’s ex threaten their newfound happiness and
budding relationship. The author brought these characters to life and made me
care about them and their relationship. I could feel their pain as well as their
joy as I read the story. Their relationship is also filled with passion and
heat. At times the story could be a bit explicit, but as an erotic romance that
was to be expected and it really added to the story. The heat of the story
starts almost on the very first page as Clay and Rio are at a local “club” and
continues throughout so it is not for the weak of heart. But there was also a
nice amount of emotion thrown in as well. It wasn’t all about sex, but about
three people finding love and trust with one another. The emotion of the story
was just as good as the heat and, as I mentioned, the author did a wonderful job
of making me feel as I read this wonderful story. It’s rare that I find a book
that makes me feel not only the emotions of the story but also the heat or
passion. Desire for Three is one of these books and provided a nice blend
of the two. I was drawn into the lives of these characters and I couldn’t wait
to read more. This touching story took me on a rollercoaster of emotions and I
didn’t want the ride to end. Desire for Three is a fabulous start to what
promises to be a great series!" -- Lilac, Whipped Cream.
5 Blue Ribbons:
"Desire for Three is the first book in Leah Brooke’ Desire, Oklahoma series. A
series involving a small town in Oklahoma founded entirely by people who had a
‘desire’ to live their lives as they choose without being judged by others in
the community. I have to admit, I love this idea. As I read this book I couldn’t
help but feel a little envious. The men’s adoration of the women in their lives
and the protectiveness of every woman in the community really endeared this
story to me. There’s simply a sense of happiness in just being ‘you’ that really
captured my attention. Jesse, Clay and Rio are a wonderful trio who all deserve
a happily-ever-after and kept me enthralled in each and every page of this
storyline.
I’ll now be eagerly awaiting the next story in this series – Blade's Desire,
which is Kelly and of course, Blade’s story. She was abused in her former
relationship and Blade, a Dom, has his eyes set on her. From the sparks flying
between these two in this story it should really be interesting to learn how
they come together." -- Chrissy Dionne, Romance Junkies Reviews.
4.5
Stars: "This is a tale that grabs your attention immediately with
spicy dialogue, likeable characters and a plot that makes sense. Right away, I
understood the needs of Clay and Rio and what they expected from a relationship.
I knew that any women they fell in love with would be wonderfully cherished and
taken care of. Their personalities oozed careful dominance and steamy
sensuality. Jesse is absolutely adorable and epitomizes the modern woman who is
truly used to taking on any task and getting it done. It was fun to watch her
deal with letting go of her inhibitions and admitting her attraction to Clay and
Rio throughout the tale. The sex between the three was hot, hot, hot and
gloriously satisfying to all involved. There are plenty of secondary characters,
and Ms. Brooke does a good job of transition whenever someone new is introduced.
The way the story is written, it would be quite easy to move to a sequel giving
us follow-up. By the time I finished, I was feeling Desire for Three and
you will too!"--Priscilla Alston, Just Erotic Romance Reviews.
