     Black's Magic is quite an intriguing tale which is rife with both paranormal elements and sizzling sensuality. Although the violence is not graphic, there is plenty of steamy intimacy to titillate the reader's palate. The characters are well-drawn, and the plot involves magical elements which are realistically interwoven into the story. 4 Angels: "Not your typical paranormal romance. This is one hot and steamy book. Rowena and Vayne have chemistry between them from the first scene. When Rowena is offered the chance to go undercover in the Coven she takes it. She will get revenge on those who killed her father no matter what she has to give up. Rowena is very self-confident and this story sure illustrates that old adage “pride goeth before a fall”. Vayne is hot and sexy in a villainous way that makes you want to tame that bad boy or at least taste that bad boy. Fast paced and exciting this story delivers on plot and sex. Added to the interesting subtext of the sexual tension between Vayne and Rowena is the twist of the character Galen Sinclair, his outer mien hides his dark desires, and when you add Rowena into the mix you get some hot scenes of BDSM. Rowena’s battles with herself over her desire for revenge and her unbidden desires for the two men she is forced to be a slave to give us a glimpse into the mind of what it is to be torn between what you think you wanted and what you truly want. Galen Sinclair, a doctor in the Coven, gets her first. He is a rough lover although not forthcoming of himself. He ensures Rowena’s pleasure but its clear that she is nothing more then a sexual pet, there to fulfill his needs. Vayne appreciates her hot passionate nature, in the bed and out of it, traits that attracted him to her from the beginning. Certain never to “own” her, Vayne’s approach is more personal, insisting on constant eye contact and the use of his name throughout their rousing interlude. He masters her with tenderness and…love. Giving this story a might more bite is Rowena’s mission, searching for information that will bring down the Coven. Snooping through Vayne and Sinclair’s homes yields trivial pieces of information, but when unexpected help comes from a surprising source does Rowena’s work make any head way. Black’s Magic amuses and captivates readers with a swift plot, handing over intense magical intrigue.
