ABOUT CALICO
Calico Daniels loves all things cowboy. From the horses they
ride to the trucks they drive and definitely the way they look
in their jeans. Raised on a working cattle ranch, Calico's love
for cowboy country flows in her blood. In the saddle at an early
age, her love of horses only grew over time. While she still
sticks with her country roots, Calico found a way to share her
love of cowboys and horses with everyone.
INTERVIEW
Q: What is the strangest job you have ever had?
A: I once worked picking up dog poop out of folks back yards.

Q: What is the funniest thing one of your pets has ever
done?
A: I have a big mare that thinks she isn’t a horse. She once
came inside while I had doors open airing out the house. Talk
about a system shock when I saw her standing in the dining room
just staring at me. When she isn’t trying to come in the house,
I am still having to chase her off the porch or out of the
garage…can you say ‘country’?
Q: What is the strangest thing you have ever eaten?
A: LOL. Do I have to pick just one? Let’s see…bear, not so
strange. Mountain lion, okay that’s a little weird. Armadillo?
Yeah I know, you can say it…ewwww. Don’t know what possessed me,
but I killed it, cleaned it and fried that baby up. Have to say
if it was ever served to me again, I would have to pass.
Q: What do you do in your down time, when you are not
writing?
A: Down time? I don’t think that exists in my life. I have
livestock that needs to be tended, gardens to work and weed,
fences that constantly need upkeep and kids always wanting time
with mom. Then there’s the house and all that goes along with
it. Dishes, laundry, cleaning, fixing what’s broke. Yeah, no
down time for me. Even my sleep is busy.
Q: If you could live anywhere in the world, where would
it be?
A: Wyoming. Big blue skies, fresh air, open country and 5.5
people per square mile. That’s my kind of state.
