A Psychic Hitch
Cheri London's lured to Florida by a man she'd met online. He agreed to
help her conceive the child she wants under her terms, but it was the sexual
promises that drew her to take the plane south.
Darius Allen Markum's gut feeling has him accepting the odd deal of an older
woman. He's convinced sex and a baby hinge on the love of the man she
doesn't want and sets out to prove it to her. However, a missed email alters
the way in which they meet.
Frustrated, Cheri kicked the sand and cut her foot. The hot, young man who
comes to her aid does more than doctor her up. His hands, his fingers, his
mouth, even his cock manage what no other man has. Scared to death of the
way her body reacted and the connection she didn't want to feel, she
hightailed it back to Illinois.

REVIEWS for A Psychic Hitch
4.5
Roses: "Cheri London wants to have a baby but does not want the
father that usually goes with it. She has secrets in her past that keep from
allowing that special someone into her heart. Darius Markum meets Cheri online
and has agreed to help her to get pregnant and then stay out of her life. Cheri
realizes that she is being stood up by Darius and leaves the bar they were to
meet at. She takes a walk on the beach and hurts her foot. A gorgeous man with a
southern drawl comes to her rescue. Allen takes her to his home and gives her
the best sex in her life. She only sees it as a means to an end but he sees it
as so much more. He needs to show how good they can be together but he has
secrets of his own that may keep that from happening. Allen is really Darius
Allen Markum. This may have been a short read but it packed quite a punch. Cheri
wants to be a mother so badly and is willing to do almost anything to get her
wish. She had her blinders on so when Allen came into the picture he just
blindsided her. The sex scenes were hot but worked so well with the story. I
love these types of books where the man just sweeps them off their feet. Every
woman should be so lucky." --Megan, The Romance Erotica Connection
4.5 Flags:
"Bekki Lynn’s likeable characters come to life in this sometimes
humorous, sometimes touching story of a woman who confers with a psychic. Desperately, she wants to have a child, but doesn’t want to run off to the first
sperm bank or jump mindlessly into bed with the first man she comes into contact
with. Bringing a man into her life is not in the cards for her either...she
thinks.
I really enjoyed Bekki Lynn’s writing style, which is
unique and captivating. She has penned a cute, tongue-in-cheek story that will
keep tickling your funny bone and keep you reading until the last page. It’s a
read to not be missed." --Karen, Euro-Reviews
4 Angels:
"A Psychic Hitch is the first book for author Bekki
Lynn, her characters are engaging and easy to become involved with. Cheri is
dragged through a turbulent ride on the emotional roller coaster of life when
Allen enters her life. Believing she knows what she wants but craving something
else is a struggle that Ms. Lynn portrays well. Allen is one determined man and
no matter how many times Cheri brushes him off he doesn’t give up on what he
believes they could have together. Add in Cheri’s well meaning friends and
family and you have a story full of life and love. A Psychic Hitch
reminds us that sometimes what we planned isn’t necessarily what we want. I’m
looking forward to seeing what else Ms. Lynn has in store for us in the future."
--Rachel C., Fallen Angel Reviews
4 Cups:
"The heart of this story is wrenched by need, desire, and fear.
Cheri is on a constant roller coaster of emotion, making her character desperate
and on edge. Her battle to keep her heart safe leaves her raw and very much
real. Allen is one tough cookie if he can take rejection after rejection, and
still stick to his convictions. His love will have to be strong enough to tear
down the walls Cheri has encased herself in. The sex is steaming hot, the
emotions on overload, and the storyline a very compelling read."
--Lototy, Coffee Time Romance
"I found this to be a good read. Both characters were well
developed, and each with their own agenda going in. Things change when they
meet, and then some. This was an emotion packed story, with Cheri winning the
prize for most neurotic confused heroine. I really felt for her, as she was
swept along the tide of her emotional waves. Allen has to be the most confident
guy ever to put up with her consistent refusals and then hot responses to his
advances.
If you like an emotional wringer, this is a perfect
read for you. Well written and poignant at times, definitely worth the time. Oh,
and the physical relationship is smokin’!"
—Christine, Simply Romance Reviews
"An extremely delectable hitch you will definitely become addicted to."

EXCERPT
“I’ve never met him,” she admitted.
“You
came all this way to see a guy you don’t know? Why?”
She
studied him, not quite sure how to explain. Would he think her
stupid or worse—label her as a nutcase? “We met in an online
service and I thought…well, he seemed perfect. Too perfect to
follow through on the terms, I guess.” The thought of another
wasted ovulation period threatened to depress her. She brushed
her hands over her face to help wipe away the niggling fact she
might never have the child she wanted.
“Terms?” He checked the cut and moved down on the floor. With
his fingers, he checked the water temperature in the basin. “I
need you to sit up and put your feet over the side of the bed.”
She
scooted, wincing as she moved her foot. He cupped the heel as it
came over the side. Instinctively, she pulled it back. The
movement pronounced the throb, but his touch intensified the
ache between her thighs.
“Go
on, tell me about the terms.” Allen’s hand slipped up to her
calf as he wet a cloth and washed the blood from her foot.
Cheri took a deep breath and let it out with a whoosh. He tried
to be gentle, but it hurt. “I want to have a baby, so I went to
see a psychic friend of one of my sisters. She confirmed I’d
have the child I want.” Her breasts rose and fell when he ran
the cloth between her toes. She’d never had anyone wash her feet
before. Somehow it seemed intimate, sexual and a need spiraled
through her midsection.
“And the problem is?” He dried her injured foot, being careful
around the cut.
She
jerked her foot when he again checked the depth, but he had a
good hold on it. “It requires sperm to fertilize an egg.”
“Yes, it does, but that wasn’t what I meant.”
He
tried to hide the smirk by keeping his head lowered, but she saw
it. “Since the man I came to meet didn’t show, well, I can
hardly produce it myself.” She swallowed the thickness lacing
her voice.
“Isn’t that half the fun? Searching, getting to know someone,
finding out if the chemistry is there, and setting up the meet
to see if the online feelings flow into real time.”
“I’m
not looking for a relationship. It’s a business deal. A weekend
of free sex, and if conception occurs, he’ll sign a contract
freeing him of all rights and obligations.”
“So,
then, why not go to a sperm bank?”
“I
have my reasons.”
He
tilted his head, eyeing her. “So, are you doing this because of
the psychic?”
“No.”
“I
can’t believe you’d have trouble finding volunteers where you
live.”
“It
wouldn’t work for me.”
“So,
you’d rather chance the history of a stranger than someone who
could ease your mind about certain facts of family history?”
He
touched the cut with the tip of his finger to apply the
ointment. She groaned. “That stings.”
“Sorry. I should have warned you.” He set the tube down and
picked up the butterfly bandages. “This is going to hurt, so
take a deep breath and let it out.” When he pressed the open
wound closed, she sucked in air and held it. “Breathe, Cheri.”
She did, but gripped her thigh with tears in her eyes as she
watched him put the Band-aids in place and tape a gauze pad over
them. “Tomorrow, we’ll let it air, but tonight let’s keep it
clean and dry.” His hand massaged her foot and up her calf.
Damn, she could get used to his bedside manner. “How does that
feel?”
“It’s fine. Thank you.” Allen picked up her other foot and set
it in the warm water, rubbing the sand off with his fingers. She
looked up at him and saw the corners of his eyes twitch. He knew
what he was doing to her.
“So,
what other requirements need to be met for this prospective
donor to fertilize you?”
The
way he said it made it sound so cold, and maybe it was. It’s the
way she needed it to be. “Why? Are you offering?” She ran her
tongue over her dry lips and watched him swallow.
